Crans-Montana is a municipality in the district of Sierre in the canton of Valais that was established in 2017 by a merger of Chermignon, Mollens, Montana and Randogne. Crans-Montana is a ski-resort situated in a close proximity to the world renowned Zermatt, 1.5h drive to Chamonix and 1.5h drive to Lausanne Airport, 2h drive to Geneva Airport.
It is located on a plateau of about 1’500m (4’920ft) above sea level with a highest elevation of 3’177m ( 10’423ft). The skiing area of Crans-Montana has over 140km (87mi) of pistes and includes Plaine Morte Glacier, the ice field that covers 7.88 square kilometers (3.04sq mi) below the mountain Wildstrubel in the Bearnese Alps.
